WINNIPEG - The Fil-Can Disaster Relief Fund Committee of Manitoba turned over a cheque in the amount of $82,249.14 to the Canadian Red Cross in a brief ceremony at the Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba on Friday, October 30. The money is earmarked to aid victims of recent flooding in the Philippines due to a series of severe typhoons. The money was raised through the efforts of hundreds of Winnipeggers, community organizations and local businesses since Typhoon Ondoy struck the Philippines in late September.
