WINNIPEG – As part of the community celebration of the 50th anniversary of Filipino immigration to Manitoba, the Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba (PCCM) in cooperation with the Rosalinda Natividad Cantiveros Foundation will hold a historic tree planting and time capsule ceremony on Saturday, October 31, 10:00 a.m. at the PCCM on 737 Keewatin St.

“These events will also serve as the official kick-off for the newly-formed PCCM Foundation. Leading Filipino pioneers, youth, seniors, businessmen and families will lead the ceremony together with the 2009 executive and board members, as well as founding and former board members of the PCCM,” according to PCCM president Rod Cantiveros.

“PCCM is seeking tree donations. Once planted, the trees will be marked with the names of sponsor families, businesses, individuals and groups. The PCCM will issue an income tax receipt for the amount donated. Proceeds will go to the PCCM Foundation and numerous PCCM projects,” he added.
