Futurpreneur to empower aspiring young entrepreneurs

VALDEZ MAY 16

Minister of Small Business, Hon. Rechie Valdez, was in Winnipeg on May 16, 2024, and held a dialogue with several small business owners from the Filipino community. Valdez discussed Futurpreneur, a program for aspiring young entrepreneurs aged 18-39 who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents currently living in Canada. She stated that entrepreneurs across the country, especially the next generation of small business owners, now have a better chance to successfully start or buy a business, as the Government of Canada has renewed its investment of $60 million over five years for Futurpreneur.

Futurpreneur is a sustainability pre-acceleration program for impact-driven future entrepreneurs. Participants receive mentorship, education, and skill development while working on their business solutions (futurpreneur.ca).

MP Kevin Lamoureux, MP Ben Carr, and MLA Cindy Lamoureux joined Minister Valdez in the meeting.
