Winnipeg Police Service Diversity Career Workshop application deadline July 30

Winnipeg Police Service LogoThe Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) will host a two-day diversity career workshop on August 24 and 25, 2021 at Winnipeg Police Service headquarters. The workshop is for newcomers and people from diverse communities who are interested in careers in law enforcement. The event will include an overview of the organization as well as a presentation outlining the WPS hiring process.

Information will be provided on volunteer, cadet, staff, and police officer career opportunities within the Winnipeg Police Service.

Various activities are scheduled to take place, including interactive case studies, round table discussions, specialized information stations, and some special guest speakers.

Applications will be accepted until July 30th, 2021, and spaces are limited for this event.

WPS Diversity Section

The WPS Diversity Section consists of four police officers dedicated to initiating and maintaining positive relationships with all ethno-cultural communities, as well as other under-represented communities, including the LGBTTQ community.

WPS officers regularly act as a resource and contacts for diverse groups. They coordinate diversity training, assist with recruitment, conduct presentations, and attend numerous diversity events, celebrations, and ceremonies.

Look for them at different events throughout the city and come over to say, “Hi.”
