It’s officially summer in this part of the world!

After a long winter and an unsatisfactory spring, the sun’s shining bright, soliciting warm smiles from everyone.

One major thing about summer is you can step out of the house or office without putting on a jacket or an extra layer of clothing. Another wonderful thing is you can spend a lot of time outdoors!

Many people go to the park for a picnic, the more adventurous go fishing, long drives and others.

For me personally, among my favourite things to do in the summer is to walk, run, bike and do Zumba. Yes, Zumba. One of the best things that ever happened to me was to become an instructor of this fun, fitness program. We do it mostly indoors, but, like any other activities, there is extra excitement when you do them outside where it is bright and breezy. And, you can marvel at the beauty of nature just being outside.

Summers in Canada are relatively short and sometimes plagued by mosquitoes, rain and thunderstorms. But you know what? More than two months of no snow and no thick jackets are blessings enough. So don’t waste any second. Plan your outdoor activities now, if you have not done so. They don’t have to be expensive, nor far. What’s important is you get to spend it with your loved ones, you have good fun, and you keep safe!

So get moving! Gotta love summer.
