AIM 2014 relief mission fulfilled

The relief mission trip of the Association of Ilocanos in Manitoba (AIM) to the Philippines from February 5 to 11, 2014 was able to help approximately 1,000 families who received rice and groceries, as well as used clothes and toys.

AIM president Romy Ominga, his wife Chie Ominga, Mario and Myra Rosario, Remy and Danny Amoyo, Vivian and Jun David joined the AIM 2014 relief mission team. The relief programs were conducted in the following areas: Santo Tomas, Batangas; Baler, Aurora; Basal, Aurora; and Rouis and Shelterville, Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

“It was not only a relief effort to meet the physical needs of the people but it was also spiritually enriching… church pastors [who joined us] gave inspiring messages of hope… we look forward to continue doing this every year if possible,” said Romy Ominga.

On April 5, 2014, AIM will have a fundraising social for the AIM 2015 Mission. The goal of this mission is to feed 2,000 families and to help build a chapel with a room for school kids with special needs in Santo Tomas, Batangas.
