Luisa Marshall’s Tina Turner Tribute coming to Winnipeg

Luisa MarshalFilipina singer and talk show host, Luisa Marshall, will perform her award winning Tina Turner tribute show at Pampanga Restaurant and Banquet Hall on Friday, June 24.

Luisa, who hosts the weekly variety show Simply the Best on Shaw television in Vancouver, is travelling across Canada raising awareness and funds for Canadian Military PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) issues in her Hope Beyond Thunderdome Tour 2016.

She has performed twice on the Oprah show and recently received a standing ovation on the Ellen show.

The title of the tour comes from Luisa’s past experiences performing for the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in places such as war-torn Bosnia, Sarajevo and later with the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in Israel and Egypt. She said the most requested song on both tours was Tina Turner’s We Don’t Need Another Hero from the movie Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Louisa felt that “Thunderdome” was a metaphor for the situation that soldiers were in at the time, and hope is what they needed.

“They were like babies to me,” said Louisa. “They need our help.”

Luisa has committed five dollars of each ticket to go to the Veterans Transition Network. So far, the tour has raised over $21,500 for this cause.

The Tina Turner Tribute Show is at the Pampanga Restaurant and Banquet Hall on Friday June 24, 2016. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Showtime 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Pampanga or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
