Ring in the love |
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow;
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
~ Alfred, Lord Tennyson, ca.1850
The New Year has arrived. Welcome 2011!
All I can say is I am glad 2010 is gone. It was a very challenging year. As trite as it may seem, I have always looked forward to the coming of the New Year because it is my cue to take time from my busy schedule and concentrate on planning some resolutions that I intend to keep in order to make my life a little better in the coming year.
Experience is the best teacher. There were experiences in 2010 that taught me to be patient and humble. Life lessons were learned that I know will help me become a better person. Personally, some friendships were tested. I had to make choices. I have met new friends and I plan to know them better. But in meeting new ones, I also came to realize that some people whom I regarded as friends before were not really sincere in their friendship. It is regretful but nonetheless, I still wish them all the best.
This year, my major resolution is very doable. I am going to focus only on positive relationships and the beautiful lessons that life still has to teach me.
Here’s a toast to friendships that last and the choices we’ll make in 2011!
We welcome the New Year with great excitement. We know that we will still be facing many challenges but we also know that with your help, these challenges will only make us stronger and even better.
